FAQ
Common insurance questions.
Straight answers to what people ask us most. Have a question that is not here? Call or email us.
What does an independent insurance agency do?
We are not tied to one insurance company. We work with several carriers, compare what each can offer for your situation, and help you choose. After you buy, we stay your point of contact for changes, renewals and questions.
Does it cost anything to get a quote?
No. Requesting a quote is free and does not commit you to buy anything.
What do I need to get a quote?
For auto: the drivers in your household, the vehicles, and your current policy's declarations page if you have one. For home: the address, a few details about the house such as the roof's age, and your current declarations page. For a business: what the business does, its locations, vehicles and employees, and current coverage. We will ask for anything else we need.
Will a quote affect my credit score?
Some insurance companies use a credit-based insurance score where state law allows, and only with your permission. That kind of check is a soft inquiry. Soft inquiries do not affect your credit score.
What affects the price of my insurance?
Common factors include where you live, your claims history, your driving record, the vehicle or home itself, the coverage and deductibles you choose, and, where allowed, a credit-based insurance score. Each insurance company weighs these differently, which is one reason comparing carriers helps.
What is a deductible?
It is the part of a covered loss you pay before the insurance company pays the rest. A higher deductible usually lowers the premium, but it means more out of pocket when you have a claim. We can show you the trade-off for your policy.
Why did my renewal go up?
Rates change for many reasons, including claim costs in your area, weather losses across the state, repair and building costs, and changes on your own policy. If your renewal went up, ask us to review it and compare other carriers before it takes effect.
Should I cancel my current policy before the new one starts?
No. Keep your current policy until the new one is issued and in force. We will help you line up the start date so there is no gap in coverage, then cancel the old policy the right way.
Can I bundle home and auto?
Many insurance companies offer a discount when you place more than one policy with them. Whether a bundle is the best choice depends on your situation, so we compare bundled and separate options.
How do I file a claim?
If anyone is hurt or in danger, call 911 first. Then call your insurance company's claims number, found on your ID card, policy or the carrier's app, and let us know so we can help you through it.
How do I make a change to my policy?
Call, text or email us with the change, such as adding a driver, a vehicle or a new address. A change is not in effect until we or the insurance company confirm it with you in writing.
Do you insure businesses and trucking companies?
Yes. We work with commercial clients, including contractors, small businesses, farms and ranches, and motor carriers. Underwriters review commercial and trucking risks closely, so these quotes can take longer than personal ones.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Our agents are licensed by the Oklahoma Insurance Department. You can look up any agent's license on the department's website.
